An artifact constructed as a symbol of sovereignty, it is made of sheet metal, gold leaf, and glass. This piece was inspired by my study of micronations, the development of a conceptual micronation, and the study of sovereign symbols. The pieces of inspiration included two Byzantine crowns, one surviving in Greece and the other being the Crown of Hungary.

This is a project generated from the obsessive study of matchlocks mechanisms. The entire firearm (except for the barrel) was hand forged and carved, including the lock mechanism. This piece was inspired my by study of outdated weapon systems, namely matchlocks and jazails. I combined the two in a single project. The goal was not to make something that was historically accurate. The goal was to make something I could esthetically interesting and that is functional.
